Description

Office Pace is a speedrunning, rogue-like game set in a modern-day corporate office where your objective is to get through the crushing work week to escape the drudgery of the corporate world.

You will play as an overworked, underpaid, pessimistic office worker. They are simply looking to get through their daily deliverables as fast as possible in order to leave early, to get out of the place corporate calls a “family”.

We embraced the corporate Memphis art style to develop the company’s seemingly happy-go-lucky atmosphere further. This atmosphere constrats our main character who is rough, sketchy and monochromatic to reveal how this company truly makes workers feel.

This game is for those who would enjoy the sarcastic dry humor that is melded throughout Office Pace

History

The production of Office Pace began in March 2023 as a project for PAX Australia with a group of eight Swinburne students undertaking the Games and Interactivity and Computer Science Capstones, thus leading to the creation of Team Cuddle.

Although it took a while, we finally landed on the idea of a speedrunner where the objective was simply to take advantage of company policy and get out of the office as fast as possible with no repercussions.

Over the year our skills as a team have grown significantly, whilst it has had its ups and downs we have worked hard and diligently to produce a game we can call our own.

  • Get In and Get Out!
    The whole point is to get out there as fast as possible! Your boss keeps piling on an insurmountable amount of work to prevent you from completing your daily requirements! Speed is Key!

  • Unique Game Art Style!
    Taking the Corporate Memphis art style out of the corporate setting allowed us to make everything simple, readable and unembellished.

  • Living Vicariously Through The Main Character!
    If you manage to get through the gruelling work week you can happily resign at the end of the week, imagine that! What a Dream!

  • Catchy Music!
    Ever been in an elevator and had a tune stuck in your head for hours afterwards? Well, we have the music for you!
    Our musicians worked on making the catchiest tune possible to repeat in your head for days after you’ve played the game!
